George Bachiashvili: To leave the country, I used the holes in the system, including people

George Bachiashvili spoke with TV Pireli about his difficult decision to leave Georgia. A translation of his comments was published by Interpress News.

Previously, Bachiashvili said that the system is shaky and that the people in it are no longer motivated to do their job well.

“The system is actually shaky, it is not working. There are too many holes and the people in it are not motivated to do their job well,” – Giorgi Bachiashvili said. His statement was followed by a question from the host, Inga Grigolia: “So they helped you from the system, do you mean the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the system? Did they help you cross the border?”, to which Bachiashvili replied: “I used the holes in the system, including people.”

According to him, he “really cannot give more details.”

He criticized the country’s governance system and said that “there is no order in the system, neither border guards, nor police officers, nor anyone else can work effectively.”

According to him, his family members are currently in Europe.

Giorgi Bachiashvili did not specify which country he is in after leaving Georgia.

The former head of the Co-Investment Fund, Giorgi Bachiashvili, announced his departure from Georgia on March 4 via social media. According to Mikheil Sadradze, the prosecutor in Giorgi Bachiashvili’s case, Bachiashvili has had his passport confiscated and was prohibited from leaving the border, but “the factual situation is what it is – the issue needs to be studied, an investigation will be launched.”
